AI/ML Engineer

Job Description

The Sponsor requires contractor support to help transition the office to new Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to modernize current collection processes. The successful candidate will train machine learning models and provide support for the productization and development of AI-based systems for use as part of the Sponsor's collection mechanisms. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Training machine learning models for various functions including synthesis of code for automated web scrapes, automation of web scraping functions with detection and self-healing capabilities, and automated visual detection of objects within video data
• Providing model training based on training data acquired from other components
• Creating complete AI-based systems incorporating multiple inputs, models, human-review processes, outputs, ETL processes, and databases
• Supporting productization and development of AI-based systems for collection mechanisms
• Providing operational support including break-fix work and software updates for deployed systems
• Researching AI/ML technologies in open source to identify cutting-edge technologies and capabilities
• Collaborating with other elements across the Sponsor and community engaged in AI efforts
• Framing and scaling data problems to effectively analyze, visualize, and develop data solutions
• Developing scalable and secure functionality in software applications with focus on AI algorithm integration
• Understanding business objectives and developing models with appropriate success metrics
• Deriving insights and analytic narratives from data and visualizations for effective storytelling
• Analyzing technology trends related to AI and ML and their strategic implications
• Performing independent technical research in robotics, autonomy, software engineering, and data analysis
• Collaborating with customers and stakeholders to assess business requirements and define AI solutions
• Working with disciplines such as Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Predictive modeling, Statistical Analysis, and Hypothesis testing
• Developing systems to identify specific conditions and respond based on those factors

Mandatory Skills

• Demonstrated experience with the ability to understand and automate customer workflows and business processes with AI solutions
• Demonstrated experience in data structures, data modeling, and software architecture
• Demonstrated in-depth experience and knowledge of machine learning tools and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
• Demonstrated experience with extensive math and computer science skills, with a deep understanding of probability, statistics, and algorithms
• Demonstrated experience in AI/ML specific programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, Conda, etc.
• Demonstrated experience training AI models, as well as in integrating pre-trained models into dataflows and software architectures

Desired Skills

• Demonstrated experience implementing secure AI solutions in the Intelligence Community
• Demonstrated experience working with highly sensitive data sets
• Demonstrated experience in leading AI/ML initiatives
• Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge of implementing ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) pipeline
• Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge in implementing solutions in Amazon Web Services
• Demonstrated experience with very strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated experience performing in a collaborative team environment
