AWS Cloud Solutions Architect

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team and support critical cloud infrastructure operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and securing AWS cloud environments while ensuring compliance with security requirements and industry best practices. This role requires expertise in Windows environments, database management, security frameworks, and cloud architecture within a highly regulated environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS services, Microsoft technologies, and security accreditation processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud solutions while ensuring robust security posture and operational excellence.

Required Skills

AWS Cloud Security & Architecture

• Demonstrated experience implementing AWS security services including Identity Management, Secure Tokens, CloudWatch, and Cloud Monitoring following established best practices
• In-depth knowledge of security constraints and required protections for enclave accreditation in AWS cloud environments
• Recent experience (within 2 years) setting up and maintaining AWS Virtual Private Clouds (VPC)
• Proven experience deploying and maintaining Windows environments within AWS infrastructure

Microsoft Technologies Management

• Current experience (within 6 months) managing Microsoft Product Suite components
• Recent hands-on experience (within 6 months) with Microsoft SQL Server administration and management
• Current expertise (within 6 months) managing Windows Server environments including versions 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022

Security & Monitoring

• Recent experience (within 6 months) deploying and managing log aggregation systems, particularly Splunk
• Current experience (within 6 months) maintaining system accreditation processes and compliance frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to make virtual machine configuration changes to resolve trouble tickets and ensure compliance with security requirements and IT best practices

Professional Certification

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification required

Desired Skills

Advanced AWS & Security Expertise

• Specialized knowledge of security constraints and protections for enclave accreditation within the sponsor's specific AWS environment
• Experience transitioning on-premises enclave solutions to Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) architectures
• Expertise in evaluating and mitigating software security vulnerabilities
• Experience with continuous security monitoring and assessment practices

Application & System Management

• Ability to make application software and operating system configuration changes to resolve issues and meet sponsor requirements
• Experience obtaining Certification and Accreditation within the sponsor's unique environment
• Familiarity with the sponsor's IT infrastructure and ongoing project initiatives
• Operational experience executing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) tasks supporting software and hardware infrastructure

Advanced Windows & Authentication Systems

• Implementation experience with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in AWS environments
• Comprehensive Windows enterprise management experience including Server ISOs, AMIs, COTS updates, domain forest management, and Group Policy Object administration
• Expertise in user role-based authentication within Active Directory environments
• Experience managing LDAP authentication integration with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications

Infrastructure Services

• Experience with load balancing and gateway services for Remote Desktop Service deployments
• Proficiency troubleshooting system errors using Event Viewer and Splunk logging platforms
• Understanding of enterprise Windows services and device management in complex environments
